Alexandria is a violinist and singer-songwriter based in New York City. She takes inspiration from her days spent as a classical musician and combines it with her love of folk, jazz, and R&B to create her own genre of music. Gwale is an indie-folk band based in Brooklyn, fronted by North Carolina singer-songwriter Adel Gwale. Their debut album, Under the Pear Tree, dictates Adel's experience of finding personhood as a young Black woman using themes from Zora Neale Hurston's 'Their Eyes Were Watching God'.
