BUMPAH presents LIVE AND DIRECT - a new live music series discovering, supporting and developing some of the most exciting QTPOC live performers and recording artists working across electronic music, rap, bass, hyperpop, R&B and beyond. Grassroots live music in the UK is increasingly under pressure, while many existing live spaces remain difficult for queer and POC artists to break into and navigate - doubly so for artists at the intersection of both. LIVE AND DIRECT is our attempt to build something different: a space for artists to perform, experiment and develop their live practice in front of an audience that is actually there FOR THE MUSIC. We also wanna push back against algorithms, clout cycles and gatekeepers defining how we discover music in 2026. Some of the best music being made right now isn't necessarily the music going viral on your feed. At LIVE AND DIRECT, we're spotlighting artists we think are absolutely killing it and deserve a wider audience. Welcome to ANTI-ALGORITHMIC DISCOVERY (aka how we used to do things) If you haven't heard of everyone on the lineup, that's the point. Come early, stay late and you might discover your new favourite artist. For our first edition, we're bringing together dark R&B vampire queen Minzie, experimental hip-hop artist and visual artist llainwire, London's number one party girl Soma, and a special, never-before-seen one-hour DJ/live hybrid headline set from Princess Xixi, Reptile B and M.I.C. expect the unholy lovechild of a DJ set, live show, grime set, rock band and something altogether nastier and more horrifying.
