Wanja Rosenthal Quartet The Brooklyn based artist Wanja Rosenthal shows the art of jazz guitar from a different light. Not shy to cross paths with various genres, his style of playing and composing surprises the eager modern listener, craving for the unknown. With a background of various projects in jazz and improvised music Rosenthal’s original music shows him being a songwriter at heart. Wanja Rosenthal BIO Wanja Rosenthal (born 1997, in Vienna, Austria) is a jazz guitarist and composer. He grew up in Vienna, where he also finished his guitar studies at the University for Music and Performing Arts. By the year of 2022, he spent a year at the Hochschule for Music and Dance Cologne. Being in a new musical environment had a big impact on developing his own musical style of playing and composing. There, his creative work reached a new level as he recorded his debut record “LÜFPYRÜN”. The modern creative jazz quartet album mainly features Rosenthal’s original compositions and was released in January 2024. The same year, he got accepted for the German DAAD scholarship. This opened the opportunity to graduate his master studies in Jazz at the City College New York. In September 2024, Rosenthal moved to New York City, striving for new inspiration and musical connections in his career as an artist.
