On Thursday, November 19, Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Axefield takes over the LOUNGE FLOOR at club asia. Running two labels, Who’s Susan and Intercept, Axefield has been carving out a distinctive sound rooted in UK bass and electronica. Drawing inspiration from film and architecture, his music brings together weighty basslines, intricate rhythms, and a cinematic sensibility, earning support from the likes of Ben UFO and Caribou. In October this year, he released his debut album, Ostuni Bound, NOW!, on his own label Intercept. Translating the romance and dramatic intensity of 1970s Italian cinema into a contemporary bass music context, the album showcases an artist who seamlessly combines dancefloor-driven grooves with rich, narrative-led musical expression. Representing Tokyo, Albino Sound, NOVA, and Romy Mats join the lineup.
