From whimsical folk-grunge to the lofi-slowcore sounds of the late 90s, teyla brings an old nostalgic sound and mixes it with the new. Originally from Massachusetts, teyla combines her suburban upbringing with her now fast paced New York life; showcasing brutal honesty in her lyrics that her audience gravitates towards. She released her debut EP, Crimson Joy, on March 20th, 2026. Brooklyn's very own math rock darlings, ÷0, blend technical playing with catchy vocals. Drawing from a variety of influences, their music seamlessly blends Midwest Emo guitar tones, jazz harmony, unapologetically bombastic syncopation, and musical theater bravado into poignant and ethereal songs. Mother Cabrini is an amalgamation of rock inspired music from Washington Heights, New York City as well as Yonkers, New York. The five members , two of which are brothers ( Andy Tapia and Leo Tapia) , and the others (Steve Howard, Laszlo Lecroy, Jack Clark) came together as a group in attempt to encapsulate a style of songwriting similar to classic bands from the 60s and 70s, with blend of indie and alternative roots. The band decided to honor the Italian American saint Frances Xavier Cabrini , also referred to as , ‘Mother Cabrini’ partially because of their ‘spiritual affinity’, but also because they all grew up in the same area where her shrine is located in northern Manhattan. A couple of them were born and raised on Cabrini Blvd, a street that exists in Washington Heights.
