elements welcomes a true sonic shape-shifter, Vertebrae mastermind Brianna Paon to the helm. We’ve been waiting for the stars to align to make this happen for some time, and incidentally this will be her LAST set as a Boston resident and we're honored that she'll complete this level with the elements crew. Having raised the city’s profile with her forward-thinking and genre-busting label and event series, her breakout productions have now anchored her in a new homebase while she travels extensively to meet the demand for live performances. Don’t miss her handpicked journey thru rude & heavy bass, jungle dnb and whatever tricks she has up her sleeve to tear up the dance! Direct support by Vertebrae OG resident Xen Chron (Different Circles | Fever AM | Unknown Untitled) Opening services by Lenore, and Blktrmlne is on the screens. Dark, shadowy attire encouraged . Brianna Paon’s work feels like something long incubated beneath the surface. Raised on piano from an age and shaped by over a decade behind the decks, her instincts feel less performative than intuitive, like she is tracing the internal logic of a room rather than directing it; a sensitivity sharpened by years of organizing parties and cultivating DIY spaces. She moves with the patience of someone who understands how sound accumulates over time. She learned how tension breathes, how low frequencies gather in corners, and how a dancefloor shifts when a groove is given just enough time to bloom. Her productions move through electro, contemporary bass, and techno not as fixed genres but as states of pressure. Rhythms flicker and retract. Basslines feel submerged and elastic. There is a quiet maximalism in the details, even when the framework is sparse. Each track carries a sense of compression and release, a balance between chrome-edged futurism and something more organic and alien underneath. Through her Vertebrae label and party series, Paon extends that sensibility outward, treating community and curation as part of the same composition. Whether opening a room or guiding it deeper into the early hours, her sound holds a particular kind of gravity. It is immersive without excess, restrained without withholding, and unmistakably hers. Xen Chron is the most recent alias of techno-ish DJ & producer Chris Leamy, mostly from Weymouth. You can find his releases on labels like Fever AM, Different Circles and Unknown Untitled. His scattered musical trajectory stretches back to the early '90s, spanning noise, ambient, grindcore, jazz/improv, hardcore, death metal, drum & bass, techno, breakbeat & IDM. Formerly known in the ‘90s and ‘00s as SILENI, he forged his own path in the leftfield technoid drumfunk dnb sphere, with tunes on Subtle Audio, Planet Mu, Offshore and Outsider; he resurfaces occasionally to play dnb sets. His first set at elements was 25 years ago and he has never not been a sick dj. After his stellar opener for Photek earlier this year, having him return to share this bill with his Vertebrae co-conspirator was a given.
