TRANS METRO EXPRESS 2026: SUNRISE JOURNEY As the sun rises, we travel through space and time inside the moving metro. Four artists will be your sonic guides through ambient experimentation, trip-hop and cinematic sound design, soundtracking the transition from dawn to day. Every artist has created site-specific sound pieces, composed exclusively for a particular route on the M1 or the M2, both above and below ground. Bring your yoga mat, bring your pillow, bring your morning coffee. And step aboard for a gentle take-off and a soft transition into the new day. The train departs at sunrise (07:05) and will stop at all stations. Anyone with a metro ticket or a travel card can board the sunrise train at any point during the journey, as long as capacity allows it. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ vio lino @vio_lino_o From Vestamager to Vanløse, vio lino will guide you through the moving space of the Metro. A space where you encounter light and darkness, in daylight and underground, through the tunnels that roar beneath the city. The liminal space between day and night might wake you up or prepare you for sleep, as the orange sunrise kisses your face in the early hours of a city not yet in motion. The mechanical sounds of the metro will be integrated in the sonic morning bath vio lino has prepared for you – a serenade between the M1 and a vocal fry. Lasse Martinussen @lassemartinussen “Den Næste I Køen” (“The Next in Line”) is a 25-minute original work created specifically for the journey from Vanløse to Copenhagen Airport. The piece will build on Lasse Martinussen’s dark and intimate electronic sound, combining passages with Danish lyrics and manipulated vocals with atmospheric production and longer electronic sequences. Inspired by the nature of the train and the people sharing the journey, the work explores the feeling of being one among many, moving through the city while carrying a private inner life. Hasfeldt @martinhasfeldt From the busy transit halls of Copenhagen Airport, through the far reaches of Amager, and into the everyday rhythms of Vanløse, Hasfeldt takes you on a journey. The next stop is endless mustard fields stretching beyond the horizon, where railway tracks melt into trip-hop fantasies and ambient city lights. A longing vocal repeats, synchronizing with a childhood memory. Hasfeldt is here to provide the soundtrack for the rest of your life. Hasfeldt creates atmospheric works that draw from ambient music, trip-hop, electroacoustic composition, and experimental club culture. Becca Reyes @saintlarey “A REPETITION: TRAVELING THROUGH GRIEF & EUPHORIA” Becca Reyes uses sonic repetition as a guiding and consistent force and paints the journey from Vanløse to Vestamager as a slow manipulation of our inner worlds through musical variation and sound design – straight from the handbook of manipulation through cinematic scoring. In this realm she has experimented with building her own instruments and sampled instruments from old musical traditions, along with playing live guitar and incorporating atmospheric field recordings.
