Marshall Jefferson is one of the true pioneers of house music. Emerging from Chicago in the mid-80s, Marshall was there during the formative years of a movement that would go on to change dance music forever. His 1986 record ‘Move Your Body (The House Music Anthem)’ became one of the defining records of early Chicago house, bringing its unmistakable piano sound to dancefloors around the world. His influence runs much deeper. From his work with Trax Records and involvement in Phuture’s ‘Acid Tracks’, to producing for Ten City, CeCe Rogers and Sterling Void, Marshall played a significant role across some of the most important early chapters of house music. More than 40 years after those early days in Chicago, Marshall Jefferson remains one of house music’s most important and respected figures. We’re incredibly proud to welcome him back to Liverpool.
