Halfmoo'n × Purpose For over two years, Halfmoo'n has explored a simple question: What happens when Drum & Bass stops being a genre and becomes a language? Since its launch, Halfmoo'n has hosted more than ten events across Tokyo and Osaka, bringing together over 100 artists from different musical backgrounds. Rather than focusing on a single style of Drum & Bass, the project invites each DJ to reinterpret DnB through their own influences, creating unexpected connections between scenes, tempos and cultures. This special edition takes place at HVEN Nakameguro in collaboration with Purpose, one of Tokyo's longest-running Liquid Funk communities, celebrating over 30 editions dedicated to the deeper and more melodic side of Drum & Bass. While Purpose artists take over the lounge floor, Halfmoo'n presents its signature cross-genre showcase in the main room. Expect a wide spectrum of sounds: SPYKEY explores DnB through Downtempo, Ambient and Electronica. kazpulse blends DnB with House music. BA-CHI- brings a fusion of DnB and Electronic sounds. AZUMAI connects DnB with the deeper side of 140 BPM music. KXA moves between Drum & Bass, Industrial and Experimental Bass Music. DJ MENTAL HEALTH CARE introduces Hyperpop influences. CRAZYHYUGA brings elements of Footwork and Breaks. YASUKI & gekko present a special B2B combining Drum & Bass and Future Bass. ROBOTBOY draws from 140, UK Garage and Dubstep. light.aka incorporates Japanese traditional musical influences into Drum & Bass. A highlight of the night is guest artist AZUMAI, a producer whose work has gained recognition from labels and artists across Japan and abroad, including support from the legendary Dutch collective Noisia. AZUMAI also contributed "Feel Your Mind" to hoshizora.labels' compilation CONSTELLATION vol.4, continuing a long-standing relationship with the label. Another special appearance comes from YASUKI, a resident of Asia's renowned Drum & Bass party 06S since 2016, whose productions have repeatedly charted on Beatport's Drum & Bass rankings. Together with the genre-fluid DJ gekko, the pair will deliver an exclusive B2B performance built around melody, bass weight and rhythm experimentation. Visuals play a central role throughout the night. HVEN's iconic spherical LED installation will be transformed by VJ gekko, while sino provides additional visual direction across the venue, creating an immersive environment where sound and light continuously evolve together. The event is presented by hoshizora.labels, an independent Japanese Drum & Bass label responsible for more than fifteen compilation releases and over 170 tracks. Known for blending Japanese emotional aesthetics with contemporary bass music, the label has become a platform for emerging artists exploring new directions within Drum & Bass. Halfmoo'n × Purpose brings together two different philosophies of Drum & Bass: one rooted in deep Liquid Funk, the other driven by cross-genre experimentation. The result is a night designed not around categories, but around curiosity, musical identity, and the endless possibilities that emerge when scenes collide. ドラムンベースは、ひとつのジャンルではなく、さまざまな音楽をつなぐ共通言語になれるのか。 Halfmoo'n'は、その問いを軸に2年以上活動を続けてきたクロスオーバープロジェクトです。 東京・大阪を中心に10回以上開催し、これまで100名以上のアーティストが参加。それぞれのDJが自らのバックグラウンドを持ち込み、ドラムンベースとの融合を試みることで、その日限りのグルーヴを生み出してきました。 今回は、東京を代表するLiquid Funkパーティーのひとつである「Purpose」とのコラボレーションが実現します。 メインフロアではHalfmoo'nによるジャンル横断型のDnBショーケースを、ラウンジフロアではPurposeによるLiquid Funkセッションを展開。 Downtempo、House、140、Industrial Bass、Hyperpop、Footwork、Breaks、Future Bass、UK Garage、Dubstep、Japanese Traditional Music。 様々なジャンルがドラムンベースを中心に交差し、それぞれ異なる視点から再構築されていきます。 ゲストには、オランダの伝説的DnBコレクティブNoisiaにも注目されたプロデューサーAZUMAIを招聘。国内外のレーベルから高い評価を受ける同氏は、hoshizora.labelsのコンピレーションアルバム「CONSTELLATION vol.4」にも『Feel Your Mind』を提供しています。 またスペシャルB2Bとして、アジア最大級のDnBパーティー「06S」で2016年からレジデントを務め、Beatport Drum & Bassチャートへのランクイン実績を持つYASUKIと、幅広いジャンルを横断するDJ/VJとして活動するgekkoが出演します。 会場となる中目黒HVENでは、象徴的な球体LEDインスタレーションを中心に、VJ gekkoとVJ sinoによる映像演出が展開されます。音楽とビジュアルが一体となった没入型の空間体験も、この夜の大きな魅力のひとつです。 主催は、日本独自の情緒とベースミュージックを融合した作品を発信し続けるhoshizora.labels。これまで15作品以上のコンピレーションと170曲以上のリリースを行い、新世代の日本のDnBシーンを支えてきました。 Liquid FunkとCross-Genre Drum & Bass。 ふたつの異なるアプローチが交差する、一夜限りのコラボレーション。 Halfmoo'n × Purposeは、ジャンルの境界ではなく、音楽への探究心によって結ばれるための場所です。
