As Miami nightlife has grown bigger, louder and more expensive, we wanted to create something that brings the focus back to what made going out special in the first place: discovering music, running into friends, meeting new people, and spending the night on the dance floor without needing a VIP table or spending a fortune. Every Wednesday at The Sylvester, MELO brings together some of Miami’s most experienced DJs, selectors and vinyl collectors, alongside occasional guests from outside the city. The music moves freely through Soul, Funk, Disco, Classic House, R&B, Hip-Hop, Salsa and everything in between — no algorithms, no trends, just timeless records. But MELO is about more than the DJs. We want to support the people and independent businesses that make Miami’s music culture what it is — local artists, record stores, labels, musicians, venues and creatives — and give them a place to connect.
