Melodies surface only to dissolve again, at times interrupted by abrupt cuts and shifts, while familiar imagery takes on new meaning through changes in texture and rhythm. Guided by intuition as much as intention, the music balances a sense of place, moments of openness, and narrative with immersive density, unfolding patiently while leaving room for ambiguity. @violetakaviolet In her home city Lisbon, Violet operates as a multi-faceted force within the electronic music landscape, contributing to her local scene from various angles. As co-founder of online radio station Rádio Quântica, resident at Lisbon’s premier DIY venue Planeta Manas and queer rave mina - her work embodies a thoughtful expression of dance music's political history, channeled through both her voice and music. Her production portfolio includes numerous solo EPs and collaborations with artists like Ariel Zetina and ELLES, alongside remixes for dance music stalwarts such as Matias Aguayo, Ste, Teto Preto, Kim Ann Foxman, and Josh Cae. 2019 marked a milestone with her debut album ‘Bed Of Roses’ on Dark Entries, followed by two more LPs: an archival release in 2020 and "Transparências" (2022), the latter earning a best electronic award from the German Critics Association.
