Right now, eira haul is one of them. On October 31st, the Berlin-based producer heads north to Hamburg for one of the biggest editions of Torture the Artist pres. eDEMi yet—joining a crew of familiar TTA and Hamburg faces for an afternoon-to-night session at Anbau / Haus73. With recent music appearing through Gene On Earth’s Limousine Dream and Slump Recordings, eira haul has become one of the names repeatedly surfacing in record bags across the underground. His productions understand the value of a proper groove: rolling basslines, deep chords, playful details and enough movement inside the arrangement to keep changing the perspective without ever losing the dancefloor. It’s music that can be subtle and seriously effective at exactly the same time. The day begins with absolutely on music, where eira haul is joined by TTA’s First Lady Selin and Holger Breuer. As always, the stream is about more than putting DJs in front of cameras. It’s our daytime living room: records being passed around, people dropping by, conversations happening between sets, drinks in hand, and music slowly setting the mood for what comes afterwards. As daylight disappears, the same room gradually changes character. Henry joins eira haul, Selin and Holger for the night, turning Anbau from an intimate afternoon session into a four-way club affair. Berlin meets Hamburg, familiar faces meet new ones, and musically there is plenty of room to move—from House and Minimal into Tech House, Breaks and the stranger corners around them. That freedom is increasingly what eDEMi is about. We want to create a little feel-good world underneath the music: warm lights, plants, records, friends and strangers sharing the same room, no unnecessary attitude and no pressure to perform. A place to arrive early, settle in, meet people, dance, disappear into a groove and perhaps stay considerably longer than intended. October 31st is a big one.
