TROPISM with Umwelt

Tropism opens the new season at Astron Club, continuing its path through the darker edges of electro, techno and underground rave culture. At the centre of the night stands Umwelt - a defining figure of the French underground and one of the most distinctive voices to emerge from the 90s rave and techno movement. For more than three decades, the Lyon-based DJ and producer has followed a path entirely his own. Through an extensive discography and his labels NewFlesh Records and Rave Or Die, Umwelt has developed an unmistakable sonic language: fierce, cinematic electro and techno where raw machine rhythms collide with dark atmospheres and dystopian tension. Far from trends and deeply rooted in vinyl, analogue machines and rave culture, his DJ sets connect the foundations of electronic music with a distinctly contemporary intensity. Rather than moving through genres, Umwelt builds environments — gradually pulling the dancefloor into something darker, more physical and increasingly hypnotic. The night unfolds further through BMSK, Whiplash and Kazteins, each bringing a distinct approach to the dancefloor and shaping the different layers of a night rooted in uncompromising electronic sound.
