First Light brings a new bi-monthly residency to The Corner led by broadcaster and curator Rohan Rakhit. Across four evenings throughout the year, the First Light team bring a spirit of community and musical discovery from weekly radio broadcasting on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, into physical space. For the final edition of 2026, Rohan welcomes Joe Armon-Jones and Maxwell Owin. Two cornerstones of London's jazz resurgence who have been developing their musical chemistry for years. First coming together on 2017’s Idiom, the pair reunited six years later for Archetype ; a 12-track collaboration that moves between jazz, dub, broken beat, grime, 2-step and electronic music, reflecting the rich musical world they’ve helped shape in South London.
