[PLACEHOLDER] presents Mutual Identities (NYC debut), Lou Isn't, and Bea Levy

[PLACEHOLDER] is thrilled to welcome Minneapolis-based Mutual Identities, a hardware production and live-set project by Nathan Graff and Ethan Sanders, for their NYC debut. Founded in 2019, they have become mainstays in the midwest’s underground music scene for their productions that expertly blend varieties of house, techno, miami bass, electro, and breaks. Known for their hardware-heavy high energy live sets that float expertly between genres, they are a perfect pairing for Honey’s custom-built soundsystem with its exceptional clarity, rich detail, and tight, powerful bass. Performing twice this summer Mutual Identities made both count. A much lauded set on day two of beloved The Great Beyond Music Festival was followed up by a set at Intellephunk’s Communion party in August, which RA posted as their mix of the day on August 28th calling it a “brilliant hour of pretty, loopy techno brimming with real chemistry.” Since their bedroom-producer beginnings they’ve wielded the vision statement: “an ever-changing sonic experience,” which shines brightly through their music and performances. The phrase provides freedom of expression without any target destination – it is a journey through sound that fulfills the deeply rooted belief that a life spent on music is a life well lived. - On closing duties is Brooklyn-based producer and 8Ball Radio host originally from St. Paul, MN, Lou Isn’t. Lou’s sound reflects his love for the groove and leftfield sound design of 2000s tech house and respect for the warm stabs and bass of ’90s dub techno. His productions feature driving rhythms, deep low end, and a touch of weirdness. - Holding it down upstairs is NY-based Bea Levy. She enjoys playing music for people who enjoy music and curates a mix series called The Unfillable Hole. - Opening the main room and helping support throughout the night are [PLACEHOLDER] founders Pedestrian Access and dj goodboy.
