CORE #010 by UNDERCITY CORE is UNDERCITY’s signature series dedicated to raw and hypnotic techno. Through repetition and long-form progression, CORE explores the immersive energy at the heart of techno. For CORE #010, Gina Demarchi brings a distinctly rhythmic take on techno from Buenos Aires to Seoul. Now based in Madrid, Demarchi draws from the raw language of old-school techno, weaving groove and hardgroove with tribal percussion, dub, funk and hip-hop. Rather than being bound to a single style, her music is driven by the way these different rhythms and textures collide, lock together and evolve on the dancefloor. Following releases on Illegal Alien Records, FLASH Recordings and Children of Tomorrow, she recently released 〈Monochrome EP〉 on Planet Rhythm, one of the long-standing pillars of Dutch techno. Raw in its foundations but fluid in its movement, Gina Demarchi’s sound finds a natural home in CORE. Groove와 hardgroove를 중심으로 tribal, dub, funk, hip-hop의 요소를 교차시키며 올드스쿨 테크노의 리듬과 질감을 자신만의 방식으로 재구성해왔다.
