Pianist, composer, producer, and sought-after collaborator **Javier Santiago** is shaping a distinctive voice at the intersection of jazz, hip-hop, neo-soul, electronic music, and Afro-Cuban traditions. Known for his expressive playing, adventurous compositions, and genre-blurring approach, Santiago has emerged as one of the most compelling artists of his generation.Born and raised in Minneapolis, Santiago developed his musical foundation before moving to New York City to study at The New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music. He later relocated to the Bay Area in 2017 and has been based in Los Angeles since 2021. He is an alumnus of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance at UCLA and The Brubeck Institute Fellowship Program. His honors include the 2016 McKnight Fellowship for Musicians, finalist recognition in the 2015 American Jazz Pianist Competition, and participation in the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program. As both a bandleader and sideman, Santiago has shared the stage with an impressive range of artists including Herbie Hancock, Terrace Martin, Louis Cole, Alex Isley, Braxton Cook, Kassa Overall, Jonathan Kreisberg, Logan Richardson, Azar Lawrence, Kenneth Whalum, Aja Monet, John Raymond, Sheila Jordan, and Yosvany Terry.Now based in Los Angeles, Santiago continues to push jazz forward through fearless collaborations and music that bridges tradition with the sounds of today. https://linktr.ee/javiersantiagomusic
