Overland marks the third season of the FM Cello and Piano Duo, and features works that move through soundscapes of legends and memory by Ludwig van Beethoven, Natasha Bogojević, and Amy Wurtz. Cacie Miller is a Chicago area pianist. She holds degrees in piano performance and music theory from several institutions, including the Eastman School of Music, University of Illinois, Houghton University and University of Southern Maine. Cacie has participated in solo and chamber festivals in Germany, Puerto Rico, Piedmont, and Chautauqua. She recently premiered several solo and chamber works, including her composition AlteredHome. She curates the Second Sunday Concert Series and maintains a vibrant multi-age studio in her Oak Park home. Christopher Ferrer is principal cellist of Camerata Chicago and a member of Lakeshore Rush. He is currently seeking music from his home region of Illinois– including through a direct exploration of the Illinois River waterway. Christopher Ferrer explores sound through performances on acoustic, amplified, and electric cello in many styles and genres. He is principal cellist of Camerata Chicago and a founding member of Lakeshore Rush. Christopher was a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra and attended the Royal College of Music & Northern Illinois University– studying chamber music with Julian Jacobsen, Janet Hilton, Warren Jones, Lewis Kaplan, Yehuda Hanani, Alastair Blayden, and Mathias Tacke.
