Join us for an evening featuring a mixture of live and recorded performances of music and poetry, a Q&A and a panel discussion, drawing inspiration from Koestler Arts: Rock, Paper, Scissors, curated by the Parental Imprisonment Collective (PIC). Singer, songwriter and performer Izo FitzRoy has worked with the Irene Taylor Trust and the Royal Academy of Music to co-produce and perform a new piece of music created by people with lived experience of the criminal justice system. This new work is directly inspired by some of the artworks on display in the exhibition. Listen to the work performed live with a string quartet and performers, and see the artworks that inspired it. This process of creation allows the performers to connect with the exhibition and be creatively inspired by the artworks and their stories, beyond its run. The Irene Taylor Trust has worked in the criminal justice arena for over 30 years, and this new piece of music showcases its mission to support positive change. Presented by Koestler Arts and the Irene Taylor Trust. Rock, Paper, Scissors is a free exhibition that features music, writing, fine art, craft and design by individuals in secure settings. The artworks on display were entered into the 2026 Koestler Awards, the only annual UK-wide arts competition for people in the UK’s criminal justice system. The ticket price includes a £2 venue restoration levy.
