On Thursday the 22nd we'll be celebrating the release of Audio Waste Management, a new project by Brodinski & Warzou featuring Aracoeli and Ecko Bazz Doors at 16:00 - Free entry ____________________________________________________ Audio Waste Management, born well and truly around 10 metres away from the scrapyard, lands on Markham Road Records. This collaborative project from Brodinski and Warzou spans a four track EP, with features from Aracoeli and Ecko Bazz. The release also marks the first on the Markham//XR sublabel, a new outlet built with no dire need for the dancefloor. The EP opens with A-Ttrav-Ers-Are (feat. Aracoeli), head spinning, full force, and Lyon-tinted, whatever that might mean. A standout vocal performance from Aracoeli is accompanied by every single 808 burn that you might imagine from a Brodinski/Warzou collab. Unsurprisingly this is a characteristic that continues throughout the whole project. Track two is Okujja (feat. Ecko Bazz), a proper sound system melter. Uganda’s conscious rapper comes correct, melting into the project’s industrial aesthetics and funnelling the listener towards an instrumental second half. His vocals sit strangely suspended, delivering an uncanny listen in line with the metallic character of the release. Skeptic Smile is the first of those aforementioned instrumental efforts, blending both the staple Warzou wub and the dry onslaught of Brodinski’s industrial drums. Such methods continue and morph on the EP’s final track Dumpster Cut. Certainly percussive, and certainly rolling. One could even be inclined to use the label drill techno.
