ALL NIGHT LONG: RHOD PARRY Manchester's Open To Close is dedicated to giving your favourite DJs, the likes of Tama Sumo, Chunky, Private Joy, Kusasa, Zuri and more), a chance to really stretch their legs and go on a good jog through the farther reaches of their collections. And yet! OTC captain, friend of the venue and fixed piece of local scene furnishing, Mr Rhod Parry, has not treated us to a solo excursion in the basement himself. We will be fixing that this Saturday. Growing up in Cardiff, Rhod cut his teeth playing at various underground club nights in his home city at the age of just 17. Drum and Bass, Jungle, Dubstep, House and Techno, it was always his aim to play across the board at a time when not many DJs in the city played more than one genre. These days, Rhod's club sets often include classic Techno, House and Soul, alongside deftly woven Disco, Electro, Soca, Afrobeats and more; an approach full of surprises that has landed him sets at Love International, Green Island, The Golden Lion, and E Soul Cultura as well as appearances on Rinse FM and NTS.
