Since August 2015, this festival has grown from a simple conviction: local music and local passion are more than enough. In an era where commercial festivals have dissolved into a high-stakes chicken game—competing over who can throw the most money at expensive, massive headliners—content and community are often left behind. We chose a different path. 'ZONNAFE' is a Korean expression that literally means breaking down and knocking out standard norms. It’s an independent movement designed to punch through commercial festival monopolies, toxic club culture, and fake DJs. The fist in our artwork represents this raw energy and our stand against the status quo. I believed in the power of our local artists. Above all, I knew how incredibly talented my friends were—artists who simply deserved a proper stage to shine. This is a strictly independent, self-built festival. From planning and design to promotion, every single detail has been handled independently, built around a community of close friends and incredible talent. We have no huge corporate capital, no lavish set decorations, and no paid crew. Instead, our DJs sweep the venue floors and put up posters, and our audience naturally steps in to help. It is an organic, self-sustaining festival powered purely by collective love and passion for the culture. We might not be a massive household name, but the Korean local scene has always been vibrant, dynamic, and fiercely passionate. Here, we proudly introduce 115 teams of our friends and local talents. Come support the heart and soul of Korean local artists.
