ODEOLOGY IS BACK We’re opening the doors again for a night built around what Odeology has always been about: techno, visual art, freedom of expression and a room where the focus stays on the music and each other. For our return, we’ve invited four talented artists who approach techno from very different directions: Benjamin Damage, Lacchesi, Merkula and Sonydiam. Expect a night that moves from dark, hypnotic techno and driving into something faster, stranger and more euphoric. (Mobilepay only) Age: 21+ Doors open: 21:30 Event closes: 04:00 Last entry: 01:00 Benjamin Damage (UK) The Welsh DJ and producer has been based in Berlin for many years, with roots in UK garage, 90s rave, Detroit techno and Berlin techno. He became an important part of Modeselektor’s 50Weapons label early in his career and has since developed a sound that balances raw power with a more melodic and emotional side. His signature is mechanical and controlled: heavy kicks, driving grooves and dark synths slowly build the intensity without ever feeling flat. There is always something underneath the surface that gives his sound more depth than purely functional club techno. Dark. Industrial. Hypnotic. But often unexpectedly beautiful. Benjamin Damage is also known for his hardware-based live setup, building and manipulating the music directly on machines. His performances sit somewhere between a concert and a techno set, with a sense of spontaneity and movement that goes beyond a traditional DJ set. Lacchesi (FR) The Paris-based DJ and producer, and co-founder of Maison Close, moves between minimal techno, trance, rave and more experimental electronic music. He is especially known for fast, high-energy sets, building tension through loops, off-centre melodies and relatively minimal grooves. Calling Lacchesi simply “hard techno” misses the point. His sets can be hard, but there is much more playfulness and movement in them. Trance elements. Strange breaks. Melodic passages. Sudden shifts. His sound is unpredictable, physical and constantly moving, while his productions also reach into IDM and ambient. Where Benjamin Damage works with long grooves, weight and hypnotic progression, Lacchesi is more about speed, euphoria and surprise. Merkula (DK) Having played at Odeology several times, alongside appearances at Volume Village, LINES and SEKVENS, she has built a sound around hypnotic pressure, euphoric energy and deep, rumbling bass. Her sets move through the stranger corners of the underground: alien textures, ghostly atmospheres and heavy tracks chosen for the dancefloor rather than the hype around them. Her own productions often find their way into the mix as well. For this night, she tells us to expect her to lean further into the weird and unknown. Dark, infectious and slightly otherworldly, while never losing sight of the dancefloor. Sonydiam (UA/DK) Sonydiam, originally from Ukraine and now based in Copenhagen, performing at underground venues and festivals across Denmark. A member of the Hot Wheelz and Eternity Rave collectives, now curating her event series Synthy Trip. After some time exploring her sound, now focusing on modern progressive trance and house textures with groovy melodies, while blending old-school with a synthesised forward-thinking sounds.
