The Cause: Summer Festival

2026-09-19
14:00:00 - 04:00:00
The Cause, London

All good things come to an end… This year’s sun-kissed season has been one of our biggest yet. Long days bleeding into longer nights, countless takeovers, new rooms finding their feet, old friends returning and a fair few sights that made our corner of the Docklands feel like its own strange world. So it only felt right to close the summer with something truly special. One last full-venue dance under the sunlight and into the stars, with a lineup stretching through generations of club music. At the heart of it are ESG, performing their FINAL EVER LONDON SHOW. Formed by the Scroggins sisters in the South Bronx at the end of the 70s, ESG carved a space between punk, funk, disco and the emerging sounds of New York’s dancefloors before anyone had really decided what those boundaries were. Their fingerprints are all over what came next. Post-punk, hip-hop, house, indie-dance, punk-funk, whatever name you want to give to the beautiful grey area between bands and dancefloors. To have them perform LIVE at The Cause, for their final ever London appearance, is in all honesty a true honour. Around them, we’re joining plenty more dots. Gilles Peterson brings several decades of digging that has lead him to refuse to sit politely inside one genre. Horse Meat Disco bring over twenty years of queer London dancefloor history for an all most expected 5 hour set. All while, NYC royalty, Joe Claussell returns after one of our favourite moments from last year’s Summer Festival, when Body & Soul took over the Courtyard. Representing a rather important strand of our own city’s club history, Dan Beaumont & Nadia Ksaiba bring Rhythm Connection, their long-running meeting point for house, disco, old bangers, new pumpers and the records that somehow connect all of the above. Many more will spread across multiple stages, inside and outside, as the sun goes down on another summer at The Cause. One last glow before the nights draw in. The Cause Summer Festival 19.09
