PUBLIC OPENING on SEPT 4 at 19h 3, STAUNTON STREET, CENTRAL, HONG KONG AFTERPARTY AT 宀 CLUB from 23h with TAKU HIRAYAMA and STEVIE WHISPER GALLERY OPENING HOURS SEPT 5-11 2026 12h-19h ABOUT THE EXHIBITION Since September 2025, Stevie Whisper has been making posters for 宀 Club, with now over a hundred designs under the belt. We’re completing a year of this new found art direction with a grand showcase of large format prints, and PRESENT A POSTER EXHIBITION CALLED THE MIHN MACHINE at 3, STAUNTON STREET, CENTRAL. Developing a language for Hong Kong's 宀 Club, Stevie insisted on real life paper sizing against what’s prescribed by social media, along with integrated folds and creases as constant reminders of physical, not virtual nature of nightlife and of posters promoting it. Nostalgia aside, the attitude remains punk, celebrates risk, and rests you assured that the hand is running the machine, not the other way around. The identity appears by way of intuitive choices, instead of by following an aesthetic or a norm of a particular subculture — mirroring the club’s ethos accordingly. Still, true to practical nature of graphic design, Stevie stays on topic either through a puzzle, a direct illustration, a kick in the teeth or an imaginative, loopy abstraction. ABOUT THE DESIGNER Stevie Whisper, aka Stefan Unković, is a graphic designer, illustrator, music producer and DJ from Belgrade, Serbia. Since the early 2000s, his eclectic yet distinct visual style was deeply involved in the micro-currents of Serbian capital's subculture — but it is free association and a vast lexicon of signs that made his language both legible and a head-scratch to an international audience. Combining experience in street art, DIY and punk aesthetics with formal education in visual communications, Stevie's work has contributed to defining a generation of Belgrade underground. Crafting visual identities for clubs and club nights, and collaborating with local streetwear and record labels, he left a mark on over 700 music and culture events since 2006. In addition to his over a decade long association with the "techno cathedral" of Eastern Europe that's Drugstore, his posters have graced walls of a significant roster of venues worldwide, from Shanghai and Beijing to Moscow, Vilnius, Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Lisbon, New York, and Melbourne. ABOUT 宀 CLUB Founded in 2018, 宀 is an underground nightclub in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. The 100-capacity venue nurtures local and regional talent, while also showcasing leading international DJ and live acts. Chinese radical 宀 (pronounced as “mihn”) has no literal meaning, but can be likened to a shelter or a roof. The club has a strict no-photo and no-video policy in place.
