On Halloween weekend, things get spooky, moody, and autumnal at SWIRL, bridging EBM, synths, darkwave, new beat, electro, and more. From 22:00 on Friday the 30th, YSY transforms into a club night powered by its custom-built sound system. We’ll kick things off with solo sets before bringing the night to a close with a B3B. For this edition, event curator and YSY resident Tempestfeather invites Jenia Clouzer and LOKIDÍ to join her behind the decks for a night of hypnotic rhythms, dark atmospheres, and physical dancefloor energy. See you on the dancefloor! CLOUZER Jenia Clouzer is a Berlin-based DJ, producer, and label founder. An artist on NEIN, Fleisch, Distant Gaze, Samo, and Inner Shah Records, his sound moves between synthwave, electro, breakbeat, EBM, and dark prog, delivering intense, physical, and hypnotic dancefloor experiences. As the founder of Distant Gaze and its sister imprint, Distant Memories, Clouzer curates two distinct sonic worlds: one focused on forward-thinking underground club music, the other exploring dreamy, emotional electronic music rooted in nostalgia and atmosphere. In 2023, he marked a significant milestone with his debut on Fleisch Recordings, remixing Zanias’ Simulation and attracting attention and support from renowned artists such as Ellen Allien and Phase Fatale. LOKIDÍ Rooted in years of exploring the many layers of electronic sound and its evolution, LOKIDÍ draws inspiration from IDM, UK dub, industrial and dub techno, and bass-heavy, abstract, experimental forms. Having moved through the ever-changing phases of underground culture across Europe and Canada, his constant search for new sounds and rave experiences has remained a driving force behind his passion for music. Expect hypnotic journeys blending deep, nocturnal, and archaic elements, driven by groovy tribal energy and punctuated by subtle atmospheric landings. Guided by instinct, rhythm, and a sensitivity to the crowd, LOKIDÍ creates raw, magnetic techno landscapes that feel immersive and physically charged. TEMPESTFEATHER Tempestfeather is an Italo-Indonesian DJ, writer, events curator, and radio host based in Berlin. Since 2022, she has made her mark on the underground circuit with forward-thinking, groove-led selections, playing at Tresor’s New Faces, Mother’s Finest at OXI, OHM, Gretchen, and Fitzroy, alongside radio appearances on Refuge Worldwide, Noods, Balamii, and Canino FM. A core member of UK-influenced bass collective Green Room, she also curates SWIRL, a monthly club night at YSY, bringing together adventurous sounds and artists. Her sound moves fluidly between genres. Drawing on her background as a third-culture kid, writer, and poet, her sets unfold as layered, groove-driven narratives. She also hosts Sonic Stanza, a spoken-word poetry and music show on Refuge Worldwide, exploring the intersection of rhythm, sound, and storytelling. About SWIRL SWIRL is an eclectic event series built as an eclectic musical crate, where no two nights are sonically the same. Each session is shaped around the changing of the seasons and built around the chemistry between DJs and the energy of the dancefloor.
