European club heritage meets a new underground on October 29 as SWEDM comes to The Great Northern. Fronted by Varg2tm and jamesjamesjames, the multidisciplinary project took shape in late 2024 while the pair worked on Skrillex’s Fuck U Skrillex You Think Ur Andy Warhol but Ur Not!!. Their shared mission: preserve the spirit of European dance music while pushing it somewhere unexpected. Drawing on the golden eras of club classics, SWEDM connects the emotion and spectacle of heritage EDM with the experimentation of contemporary underground culture. It’s a love of the source material with a restless eye on what comes next. In a scene increasingly shaped by algorithms and disposable moments, SWEDM wants to bring fantasy and vitality back to the dancefloor.
