halloween. we’ve always had a love/hate thang with all hallows' eve. yes, its a great night for a party. but its often all a bit too bombastic, for our tastes at least. we like parties about music. and dancing. and people. never needed much on top of that, eh? but as seasons flip here in montreal, we’re gonna enter the fray. just a lil’ bit. for funsies. this one will be a (relatively) normal ferias ’til sunrise party, just on halloween. yes, feel free to dress up + celebrate if you so desire. no, you most definitely do not need to wear a costume. or do anything halloween-y whatsoever. do whateva ya want. be comfortable. have fun. we’ll have sweet lights + the disco ball + a big soundsystem. we 100% will not have skeletons or spider webs or whatever. we’ll have a sunrise. through wrap-around windows, down by the water. ++ most importantly, we’ll have one of our long-time dream bookings playing music for hours… scott grooves. detroit’s humble hero. an unsung but quietly revered pioneer, no matter which way you slice it. a real-life artist. a painter, a thinker, a word-smith, and one of the most masterful music heads the world has ever know. those who know, really know. not much we need to say for the rest of ya, but here’s a lil context : if ya tally up allll the records that have been played at ferias parties over the years, sg trax would easily take the cake. maybe maurice fulton would be semi-close. +then everyone else, wwaayy behind. his catalog is simple immense. ask any deejay worth a penny about him, they can tell ya the rest. on the montreal tip, we’ve got ferias family lia plutonic and terrell playing together for the first few hours. some soul + some jack to set us in motion. alina + guthrie at the wheel for the sunrise strech. okie dokie, thats that. a ferias halloween. saturday, october 31st 10pm ’til ??
