On 10th October at BLUR, we welcome a true legend of house and techno: RYAN ELLIOTT for a special three-hour set! Born and raised just outside Detroit and based in Berlin since 2009, Ryan has spent the past two decades building a reputation as one of the most respected and versatile selectors of his generation. A long-standing resident of Berghain and Panorama Bar, and the founder of his own Faith Beat label, his approach has always lived somewhere in that perfect space between house and techno: deep, precise, groovy, unpredictable and relentlessly focused on the dancefloor. Opening the room is our dear friend VTT, building the perfect energy before Ryan, and closing is our beloved resident AVA EVA , who simply never disappoints. Expect the energy, freedom and irresistible vibe we’ve come to know and love from her at BLUR. Meanwhile, something completely different is happening in the Studio: for the first time at BLUR, we’re dedicating an entire room and an entire night to a music we deeply love: Dub. And we couldn’t think of better people to inaugurate it than Brussels’ own DUB PUNISHERS: the project of dub fanatics ELISETHERE & STDJ, joined on the mic by MALIMAN. Rooted in sound system culture, their universe is all about heavyweight low frequencies, hypnotic basslines, cavernous echoes, raw percussion and deep, immersive atmospheres. Dub is music that needs to be felt as much as heard. It needs space, and most importantly, it needs a sound system capable of going seriously low. Luckily, we have exactly that. So rather than simply inviting them for a set, we handed them the keys to the STUDIO for a full-night takeover. It’s still pretty rare to experience dub in a club environment in Brussels, which makes us even more excited and proud to open the Studio to this culture for the very first time.
