To celebrate Resident Advisor’s 25th birthday, RA has partnered with The Queer Nightlife Community Center (QNCC) to host a free day of knowledge-sharing, practical learning, and community building for New York City's nightlife workforce. What is It? A hands-on, one-day event designed to help nightlife workers build sustainable, financially stable careers. Led by local industry professionals, the day features practical workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities focused on expanding your skillset and unlocking new income streams. Lunch and refreshments are provided. As part of the program, participants will have the opportunity to receive a $75 honorarium to shadow a worker and mentor at a future nightlife event held at QNCC. Who is It For? This program is designed for NYC nightlife workers and East New York/Brownsville community members who want to diversify their skills and increase their financial stability. To keep workshops impactful, capacity is strictly limited to 20 participants. When & Where? - Date & Time: Thursday, October 15 | 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM - Location: QNCC (East New York) Priority & Inclusivity UNLOCKED aims to lower barriers to entry in the music and nightlife industries. Applications will be prioritized for FLINTA individuals (female, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, agender), members of the Global Majority, residents of East New York and Brownsville, LGBTQI+ community members, disabled workers, lower-income individuals, and people with refugee or care backgrounds. Travel Stipends Up to $50 per person is available to cover bus or rail travel from Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, Westchester, Hudson, and Philadelphia.
