Analogue Foundation returns to Zenner Saal for the eighth concert in its intimate listening series. This edition presents GAISTER, an encounter between soprano and experimental vocal artist Olivia Salvadori (Tutto Questo Sentire), drummer Akihide Monna (Bo Ningen) and songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Coby Sey. The name is an invented word combining the German Geist, meaning spirit, with geyser, a nod to Iceland, where the recording was born. The trio work across three mother tongues (Italian, Japanese and English), with voices braided over drums, percussion and synths. They perform live with light artist Charlie Hope, whose lighting adds another layer to the room. Ahead is a live performance by Maya Shenfeld, a Berlin-based composer and musician whose practice moves between popular, electronic and experimental music. She has released two albums on Thrill Jockey, In Free Fall (2022) and Under the Sun (2024), and scored Cover-Up, directed by Laura Poitras, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Opening the night is a DJ set by Józio Urbański, an improvising multi-instrumentalist and self-described radio-fetishist moving between Berlin and Warsaw, easing us into the evening. As always, the Saal becomes an intimate listening space, where you’re invited to sit, stand, or lie down, and simply be with the sound and light. Tickets are limited to keep things close and quiet.
