Moving away from traditional metal structures, the project prioritizes thick, nightmare- inducing atmospheres and distorted, propulsive sounds. Cromlech emerged from Manchester's "psych-undergrowth" to deliver music described as "industrial noise-rock par excellence". While Williams' earlier work under Primitive Knot leaned into dark energy, Cromlech channels this into a more abrasive, atmospheric sonic destruction. The project is known for its "muscular, riff- heavy battering-ram" sound, often layered with growled defiance and socio-political themes.
