After 3 months laying dormant HAVEN are back with the third DOUBLE HAVEN of the year providing 2 nights of spicy sweat-boxes alongside 2 international guests in the hallowed halls of Galaxy Arcade… On Friday 11th December we invite Manchester techno legend CLERIC for his first ever performance in Aotearoa to kick off 2 nights of degeneracy. As one of the defining artists of contemporary British techno his musical output has taken him to the booths of many of dance music’s leading institutions including Berghain, Tresor, Fabric, Awakenings and beyond. With a musical identity and productions defined by propulsive rhythms, powerful percussion, and tension his music has been lighting up dance-floors worldwide with releases on Len Faki’s Figure label, Scottish imprint Soma, and his own Clergy label - which has become the home to many of techno’s rising and respected artists such as Kabay, Obscure Shape, Hyden, Bidoben, Measure Divide, and Dax J. Kicking off proceedings we have HAVEN residents and Hang The Saints founders HUNTER and THE RAT playing a b2b set to set the mood, while KEEPSAKES will warm the floor ready for our guest fresh back from his recent European tour… ________________________________________________________________________________ On Saturday 12th December Hamburg’s king of new wave and break-beat influenced electro L.F.T. (aka Love Fist Tears) takes over the arcade floor with his sound defined by distorted drum machines and romantic synth melodies. In recent years he has been on a tear with his musical output - releasing timeless music on labels including Helena Hauff’s Return To Disorder, Mechatronica, Tresor, and Mannequin Records. As a DJ and live act his exploration of electro, techno, and soundscapes painting futuristic dread have seen him perform at the likes of Tresor, Fold, Golden Pudel, Dekmantel, Ombra Festival and more. Beyond this he is also one half of notorious new wave duo Schulverweis - known for raw basement tape recordings and explosive live shows. Opening the second night we have Tāmaki-based degenerate and promoter of the Sekt raves XYWAV making his HAVEN debut, while Ōtautahi local and Tender Buttons party-starter KATE.LAND warms up the floor before our guest… High quality audio provided by 03 legends Subtle Sound System // Artwork by HAVEN co-founder Marie Celeste FREE EXPRESSION ENCOURAGED // COME AS YOU ARE, ACCEPT AS THEY COME FRIDAY 11TH DECEMBER LINE-UP (ALPHABETICAL): CLERIC (UK // CLERGY, FIGURE) HUNTER B2B THE RAT KEEPSAKES SATURDAY 12TH DECEMBER (ALPHABETICAL) KATE.LAND L.F.T.
