New York City’s underground meets grunge, shoegaze, rave, and electronic chaos when Pretty Sick comes to El Club Detroit. Founded by Sabrina Fuentes, the project has spent more than a decade pushing alternative rock into stranger, heavier, and more unpredictable territory. After building a cult following in NYC’s DIY scene, Pretty Sick signed to Dirty Hit the label behind The 1975 and beabadoobee and broke through with tracks like “Superstar” and “Dumb,” earning praise from Pitchfork, The New York Times, DAZED, The FACE, and even Iggy Pop. Their 2022 debut Makes Me Sick Make Me Smile brought their distorted, hook-heavy sound to stages around the world alongside beabadoobee and Yves Tumor. But Pretty Sick isn’t interested in staying in one lane. Their Streetwise EP introduced a darker electronic edge, while their upcoming sophomore album Anarchy pulls from rap, rave, shoegaze, and alternative rock to create something entirely their own. Expect a loud, unpredictable night where distorted guitars, hypnotic textures, and club-ready energy collide. Fans of: beabadoobee, Hole, The Smashing Pumpkins, Yves Tumor, Slowdive, Wednesday & The 1975. Don’t miss Pretty Sick live at El Club Detroit. Grab your tickets before this one sells out.
