**Sun Suede** is the collective led by musicians Mage Buse and Dane Sandborg, longtime friends and former bandmates whose musical paths ran parallel for years before converging. The two reconnected in late 2024, when Sandborg signed on to produce a new project for Buse. Fate had different ideas, and the sessions quickly grew into a band of their own, fusing modern soul with atmospheric funk and R&B. Backed by a high-wire live show, Sun Suede has a future as bright as its name. **Cassowary** is the project of Los Angeles-born singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Miles Shannon, whose music moves fluidly between jazz, funk, psychedelic R&B, hip-hop and experimental pop. Raised in Inglewood and classically trained in jazz at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, Shannon began pushing beyond jazz traditionalism early, drawing from an eclectic world of influences spanning Prince and Miles Davis to Steve Reich, A Tribe Called Quest and Pink Floyd. He made his recorded debut playing piano on childhood friend Earl Sweatshirt’s I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside, before releasing his self-titled debut album Cassowary via Fat Possum Records in 2020. After several years away from releasing music, Cassowary re-emerged in 2026 with “Move!,” co-produced by three-time Grammy-winning producer Om’Mas Keith, marking the beginning of a new chapter as he prepares to unveil more new music. **THE BOOGIE DOWN** (after the show) - From the radio to the dancefloor…KCRW’s Boogie Boudreaux brings the House!
