Rob da Bank started the Sunday Best parties in a tiny venue the Tearooms Des Artistes on a rundown road in South London in 1994… it quickly became the place to head to on a Sunday whether you wanted to play chess and chat to ya mates or dance on then wooden floorboards to residents like Andrew Weatherall and Harvey… the music policy broke the trance/jungle/house mould in London at the time with an anything goes soundtrack from folk and easy listening to krautrock, techno, deep funk and leftfield oddities. The party went on for seven years before Robbys Radio 1 and Bestival duties took priority! The club and its artwork, dressing up policy of fun and good music then morphed into the legendary Bestival festival. 20 odd years later Robby thinks its time to dust off the vinyl, bring out the Disco Chicken tequila luge and treat London to an all dayer of something alternative whatever your era.
