An intimate room with big, warm sound and a few good reasons to stay late. This Saturday we're headed to Music Room, welcoming Somersault down from NSW alongside Amber Ferraro, Cotzy and Intka. Somersault’s sound sits somewhere between jazz infused house and the shuffle of UK garage: deep, sometimes bright, other times murky - always with a bit of swing. Releases on PIV, Gruuv, META and more have earned him support from the likes of Marco Carola, Groove Armada, John Digweed and Franky Rizardo, while his own label, Alltalk, gives him space to follow his more eclectic instincts. Expect rolling house and playful turns that keep you moving. Joining him is Melbourne staple Amber Ferraro. A onesixone resident, DJ and vocalist with a background in jazz, Amber brings an ear for melody and a feel for the dance floor, drawing on years of experience both behind the decks and on stage. Irish born, Melbourne based producer Cotzy and Headzy Bop's Intka complete the lineup. Hidden inside HER on Lonsdale Street, Music Room is a beautiful close quarters dance floor and lounge, with timber-lined walls, low lighting and a listening bar philosophy that puts music first.
