For November’s edition of SOUND, we welcome Nigerian-born, UK-based MC MAGUGU to Stereo, performing alongside James Hometown on the full Hometown Sound System. Known for his unmistakable voice, energetic delivery and distinctive blend of Nigerian Pidgin English with grime, dancehall, dubstep and UK bass, Magugu has established himself as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary sound system music. With releases and collaborations alongside Mala, Le Motel, Famous Eno and My Nu Leng, and appearances on labels including Deep Medi Musik, Maloca and NLV Records, Magugu brings a wealth of experience to the microphone.
