A new connection between Tbilisi and Beijing’s underground scenes begins with the Meteor Studio Showcase. Bringing together the Tbilisi-based cultural space and its artists with Beijing’s underground community, the collaboration marks the beginning of a series of exchanges between independent brands, collectives, artists and venues from both cities. More than a one-off showcase, the project opens a wider dialogue between two scenes with their own distinct identities, but a shared focus on underground music, nightlife and contemporary culture. METEOR STUDIO, based in Tbilisi, Georgia, was created by the team behind some of the city’s most influential nightlife and cultural spaces, including TES Club, Drama Bar and Heaven. Built around the intersection of music, lifestyle, art and contemporary culture, Meteor Studio operates both as a late-night gathering place and a creative hub, extending club culture beyond the dancefloor. The studio is part of a new generation of spaces shaping Tbilisi’s evolving cultural landscape. For this showcase, Meteor Studio presents two artists from its extended circle: MATTI, also known as Mikheil Beriashvili, is a Tbilisi-born DJ and producer currently based between Tbilisi and New York City. With a background in music technology and experience within Tbilisi’s theatre and performing-arts scene, his approach to electronic music is shaped by atmosphere, texture and rhythm. House music remains at the centre of his sound, while his sets move through hypnotic house, techno, progressive rhythms, trance influences and deeper electronic territory — built around deep grooves, rolling rhythms and carefully selected textures. DELOREAN is the project of Tbilisi-based producer and DJ Dimitri Gongliashvili and a member of the Meteor Studio crew. Formerly a resident at the now-closed TES Club, Dimitri has been DJing from an early age, developing a sound rooted in House, Techno and Breakbeat. Inspired by the idea of moving between the past and the future, DeLorean brings together old and new influences through drums, groove and sampling, creating a sound that connects different eras of electronic music while remaining focused on the dancefloor. The Meteor Studio Showcase is the first step in what will become a series of collaborations between underground brands and artists from Beijing and Tbilisi, creating new connections between two cities, their communities and their independent music cultures. This event will also mark the official 2026 season finale of the HOUSE ON THE ROOF series. After a season built around rooftops and open-air settings, the series will close the year in a very different environment. With no recent rooftop venue meeting the standards required to present international artists, TRACK’s outdoor area will take over as the setting for the finale. Instead of the usual rooftop skyline, the final chapter moves to a working train-platform setting, between two train carriages, surrounded by an urban backdrop and the raw atmosphere of TRACK.
