13 years of love, laughter, and dance. Join us for our annual ThanksChristmaHanukKwanzaa Boogie & Toy Drive! Let's Dance Brooklyn, New York City's favorite all-ages dance party … an authentic NYC underground dance experience where generations come together on one dance-floor. Rooted in the spirit of New York's legendary dance culture and built on a foundation of community, music, and love, it's a place where families, dancers, neighbors, and friends can move freely, connect deeply, and create lasting memories together. For this one, we’re deeply honored to welcome Saint James Joy & our special guest VARSHA for an afternoon of music, movement, and community for the young and young-at-heart. We’re dancing with a CAUSE; Please bring a new or lightly used (un-wrapped) toy, and we’ll get it to a distribution center to bring some joy to a child during the holiday season. Saint James Joy is a Brooklyn-born cultural movement of DJ duo (DJ Jo Vill & DJ Chill) rooted in family, hope, and community. The movement was sparked during the early days of COVID when Jo’s wife, Gayle, began ringing the family bell each evening in appreciation for essential workers. Jo brought a speaker outside to join in, and what began as a daily ritual quickly grew into one of NYC’s most beloved gathering spaces. Today, they bring a high-energy blend of house, soul, and global sounds that bridge generations and turn any floor into a pure, celebratory block party. VARSHA is a NYC-based DJ, dancer, organizer, and multidisciplinary artist deeply rooted in the house music, street dance, and Ballroom communities. Known for her infectious curiosity, vibrant energy, and deep devotion to underground club culture, VARSHA creates uplifting, body-moving sets that bring diverse communities together on the floor in the true spirit of house music. Together, we’ll create an afternoon of connection through music, movement, and community. Tickets are $10 thru $20 for single entry, or grab a $25 Group Ticket (limited) which covers up to 4 people … so bring the crew, the neighbors, or the family! Dance with us on Nowadays’ legendary custom-built analog sound system. Expect great vibes, a full bar with adult and kid-friendly drinks, and authentic Mexican eats from The Zumbador. /// Entry is at the discretion of our door staff. Online purchases are limited to four tickets maximum per person. If tickets are sold out here, we always hold a good amount at the door. We will do our best to admit those without tickets but entrance is not guaranteed. Violence, non-consensual touching, racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, ageist or other discriminatory language, and leering are not allowed within our walls or in our back yard. If someone says or does something to make you feel uncomfortable while you’re here, let us know. /// Accessibility: The wheelchair entrance to our indoor space is in the driveway, which is the access point most commonly used to enter Nowadays. During parties the driveway gate is locked, so please ask staff at the street entrance for assistance with entry. All of our bathrooms are gender-neutral. There is one accessible stall indoors. Just ask any Nowadays staff member for the key, and they can show you the way. During parties, seating is available both on and off the dance floor. While we don’t have a dedicated quiet space indoors during parties, the booths next to coat check are a little quieter, and the deck and back yard a little quieter than that. Most nighttime parties include the use of strobe lights and water based haze.
