◉ We’re gearing up for our biggest one yet on December 18th: bringing one of London’s finest underground jungle and drum & bass club nights, Rupture, to Atno to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the globally loved night and movement! Three artists will be making their Budapest debut this time around: Rupture co-founder Double O, and two of its residents - Decibella, renowned for her exceptional DJ skills, and one of Rupture’s defining voices, Blackeye MC. It’s a huge honour for us that RIGHT TIME will be part of the celebrations as one of this year’s final stops. Following Sardinia, Leeds, Stockholm, Manchester and many other destinations, Budapest is the only location east of Germany where the club night envisioned by Double O and Mantra will be represented on the tour. Rupture and RIGHT TIME share a lot of the same values: both were created to give space to the deeper, more experimental side of jungle and drum & bass, while building a genuine community and consciously resisting the commercialisation of the culture. Rupture has been a huge inspiration to us throughout RIGHT TIME’s journey: Panka has been a core member of the crew since its very first party twenty years ago, while all of us have been blown away by our personal experiences at Rupture events, as well as its releases, radio shows and recorded sets. The entire musical ecosystem surrounding Rupture, along with the intimate and uplifting atmosphere of its parties, has always been an incredible example for us to follow. All of our international guests so far - including Mantra, the other co-founder and Double O’s partner in life - have been to Rupture countless times, and every single one of them has had nothing but praise for the night, while recognising that we are striving towards something similar ourselves. The connections run deep - it almost feels like we’re bringing Rupture home for its 20th anniversary, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Double O, Decibella and Blackeye MC! Rupture, regarded as a favourite club night among the DJs we have hosted as well as countless others, was co-founded by Double O, a defining figure in jungle and drum & bass culture for more than 25 years. Hailing from Doncaster, he started his career at warehouse parties in the early ’90s, playing alongside the likes of Carl Cox, DJ Ratty and Grooverider, before releasing one of his best-known EPs as 007 - the Undercover Agent EP on Formation Records in 1994. Active as a DJ, producer and MC, Double O’s musical journey extends far beyond jungle and drum & bass, with hardcore, dub, acid, Detroit techno and roots reggae all playing an important role in his career. His debut album, Firm Meditation, released in 2023, is an honest and passionate reflection of who Double O is and where he comes from: deeply rooted in his musical history and culture, while drawing heavily on the influence of all the genres mentioned above. Inspired by pirate radio, rave tape packs and the sounds of Garage, Hardcore and Jungle, Decibella immersed herself in the ’90s underground rave culture on the dancefloors of One Nation, Telepathy and Raindance. Her meticulously crafted DJ sets explore the broad spectrum of jungle and rave, combining fresh music and releases from the scene with a deep connection to the original sound and atmosphere of the genres. She made her production debut on AKO Beatz in 2020 and has worked closely with Tim Reaper and Mantra in the studio over the past few years. Their collaborations have resulted in several heavy and high-quality EPs released through Future Retro London, Rupture and Fabriclive. Inspired by hip hop, funk, soul, jazz, reggae and dub alike, Blackeye has been developing his own voice within the UK jungle scene for over two decades. Starting out on pirate radio and in smaller clubs, he has since become one of the defining voices of Rupture events. He has worked alongside artists and at events connected to names such as Digital & Spirit, Seba, Stretch, Technicality, AKO, Hardware and Metalheadz. His deep, soulful vocals never overpower the music, instead complementing it naturally - a quality that has made him a defining MC in his own right. We’ve wanted to bring an MC from the international scene to RIGHT TIME for a long time, and we’re especially happy that our first guest in this role will be Blackeye, whose talent and decades of experience will be a perfect demonstration of why the MC remains such an important part of jungle and drum & bass culture. Being part of Rupture’s two-decade-long, ever-evolving story in this way is a huge dream come true for us. We’re incredibly excited to see what Double O will bring to the decks for the anniversary party, how Decibella will channel Rupture’s feminine energy through her set, and how Blackeye will crown the night with his rhymes. Alongside our guests, all four residents, Panka, Mentalien, Benc and Aikatherina will of course be taking over the Atno decks too, bringing their favourite jungle, UK hardcore and drum & bass selections with endless enthusiasm. And once again, the Rába soundsystem will be shaking us from head to toe. We can’t wait to share this one with you!
