Brace for impact: Schwefelgelb returns to headline BASEMENT. The prolific German duo arrive hot on the heels of their most recent release, “Hologramm.” A pristine slice of linear, techno filth, the EP is a masterclass in less-is-more, with taut, tensile loop structures that swerve with laser focus and a punky edge. Schwefelgelb have committed themselves to fusing the perfect alloy between hard-edged modern techno and rushing, rave release. With each step, their refinement only deepens. Radion resident Justine Perry is back. The French artist is at the forefront of a new wave, blending the cerebral and hypnotic with powerful, driving grooves. Following standout releases on Ostgut Ton and Dynamic Reflection, Perry has announced she is launching her new label Initial Interface later this year. Khidi resident Liza Rivs also returns, following her debut in April. This year’s “Seek The Hunter” EP sees Rivs in pure, menacing form, crafting captivating slow burners out of a palette of noise and rumbling, seething low end. For one night only, FUNCTION takes over STUDIO. The beloved, infamous series has grown into one of the city’s premier queer parties, full stop. Founder and resident Makadsi leads the pack. A party starter par excellence, Makadsi harnesses the power of throbbing low end and slinky sleaze. Serenda makes her debut. A FUNCTION veteran, Serenda matches the vision and meets the freak while adding a personal twist. The London-based artist brings a subtle but decisive UK touch to the proceedings - soulful and deep but also heavy and hard as steel. Sterling Juan Diaz completes a perfect trio. No account of NY nightlife over the last five years would be complete without his name; Juan Diaz has been an undeniable force in the explosion of queer nightlife, drawing on a classic template of pumping house and techno, while adding a modern bite. ■ No photos or videos ■ Ticket purchase does not guarantee entrance ■ No phone use on the dancefloor ■ The dance floor is for dancing, not conversation ■ No glowing/flashing clothes or items ■ Respect other people's space, no shuffling ■ Consent is mandatory ■ Zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or any form of discrimination ■ Take care of each other, alert our staff if somebody isn't feeling well ■ Violating the house rules will result in removal PLEASE REVIEW HOUSE POLICIES AT LINK BELOW
