ODD JOBS is a work-in-progress show for Nathan D'Arcy Roberts's upcoming Radio 4 Stand-Up Special, wrestling with AI’s impact on the job market. Asking whether it's just history's next Industrial Revolution or something more apocalyptic. Nathan shares the weird and wonderful jobs throughout history that have been made obsolete through technical innovations... Imagines the odd news jobs that could be created in the future... Shares war stories from his own chaotic employment history... And explores how we can find purpose in a post-job work… because even though shitty jobs shouldn’t be our identity, we need them to build character.
