Gather in Sound Vol. 7 19.09 | 18:00–24:00 A few days before the autumnal equinox, we return to Ikii for Gather in Sound Vol. 7, bringing together deep ambient music, live visuals and Japanese tea. Swiss DJ, producer and curator Ben Kaczor joins us for the seventh edition. Moving between deep house, dub techno and techno, his sound is minimal, dubby and melancholic, with a strong sense of space and restraint. A member of Dial Records since 2023 and co-founder of St. Odes, Kaczor’s work moves between club music, ambient performance and multidisciplinary projects, with a focus on resonance and music that is felt as much as heard. On the visual side, Basel-based multimedia artist Amelia Mroczkowska works with video, light and live improvisation. Her visual performances use her own footage projected through chandelier crystals, creating shifting layers of refraction, repetition and fragmentation. Working in real time, she reshapes the images in response to the sound, allowing the visual environment to evolve throughout the evening. For the tea, Franziska, founder of Berlin-based Atelier Kyo, will share a selection of Japanese teas. Her approach is rooted in a close interest in the craft and origin of tea, including time spent working alongside farmers in Uji, Kyoto, learning about different cultivars directly at the source. Alongside Atelier Kyo, she hosts tea experiences and educational workshops in Berlin. Gather in Sound continues with its focus on carefully selected sound, visual work and tea, bringing different practices into conversation within the intimate atmosphere of Ikii.
