NIIX joins Ragdoll Rhythms for the first time, bringing a sound that refuses to sit still. DJ, producer, vocalist and Keep Hush party planner, she’s played The Cause and Carpet Shop, alongside Keep Hush events in Barcelona and Amsterdam. Festival appearances include We Out Here and Boomtown, with guest shows on NTS and Rinse France, plus residencies with Voices Radio and Sister Midnight FM. Last time at Planet Wax, she was celebrating the release of her mmotd EP on CDR, featuring her own live vocals. The EP is available digitally and on vinyl. Making her Ragdoll Rhythms debut as Babe of the Abyss, Sou Varine arrives with plenty of mileage under another name. Taking Sou Varine from Zola’s saboteur in Germinal, she later crossed over as Babe of the Abyss, borrowed from Crowley’s map of the soul. A regular around Bermondsey, she’s played Venue MOT, Ormside, Avalon Cafe and Club Cheek, with radio appearances on Kindred Radio, The Lot Radio, NTS, Resonance FM and Netil Radio. She curates Discogs Diaries, an Instagram excavation of the funniest, strangest and most unhinged corners of vinyl collecting. YouYou also makes her Ragdoll Rhythms debut with a wide-ranging bag spanning ambient, disco, jazz, acid house, bass, dub, IDM, electro, breaks and techno. Recent appearances include Planet Wax, Studio 18, Distillery N17 and Bristol’s The Jam Jar alongside DJ ADHD. She’s co-founder of SOMNAMBULA with Berwick, with bookings including Ben Pest and Radioactive Man, and recent festival appearances at Funk in the Forest, Westival and Seasoning. She’s also a Void Bristol radio resident. Sands Spheric, Ragdoll Rhythms co-founder, joins the dots between electro, techno, breakbeat and bass-heavy club music, with deep digging, rolling grooves and plenty of curveballs. His sets have taken him from Venue MOT, Greyhound and Archives to the Beatport Stage at Junction 2, while his monthly Aaja Radio show brings together guests from around the Ragdoll universe. EDFX, Ragdoll Rhythms co-founder, brings a low-slung, leftfield approach built around deep grooves, driving rhythms and off-centre selections. He’s played Venue MOT, The Greyhound and Planet Wax, while his monthly Aaja Radio show, Desire Lines, explores the wider sounds shaping his musical world. He organises record fairs and club nights for homeless charity Crisis.
