Celebrating legendary 73-year-old Japanese guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka, SUPER TAKANAKA POP UP! in HARAJUKU runs from October 21 to November 1 at UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE HARAJUKU on Tokyo’s iconic Takeshita Street. Marking his 50th anniversary as a solo artist, the pop-up comes amid a remarkable global resurgence for Takanaka. His first-ever world tour in 2026 sold out all 13 shows across eight cities, followed by a headline performance in front of 15,000 fans at London’s City Pop Waves. Visitors can explore guitars favoured by Takanaka, photography from his world tour, live performance footage, exclusive merchandise and a special photo spot featuring his iconic red surfboard guitar. Admission is free.
