Weaving elements of freak folk, electronica, and absurdist theatre, London-based duo Vaseline inhabits a surrealist pop world of their own. In their first solo Berlin headline performance, sisters Riot and Enga Perry combine experimental sound with performative elements, tracing the inner lives of two fictional characters, Ditsy and Rabit. With deadpan humour and playfully warped vocals and synthesizers, Vaseline channels their tender chaos into something hypnotic and uncannily intimate, filling KW’s Pogo Bar basement with dreamy, distorted harmonies and drums, sudden accelerations and gradual decelerations – as if the sound itself were occasionally losing its grip on time.
