To wrap up a beautiful summer, Bratcity, Sacred Space, and Mutual align as Synergy to bring forth the hottest night of the season. Centered around community and unified movement, the driving concept behind this collaboration is to transform our favorite warehouse dancefloor into a full-bodied experience powered by both audience and performers. This special edition will showcase a coalescence of techno, club music, and dance performance, where the boundary between stage and floor disappears. This lineup is composed of four dancefloor oracles who will shake our walls up in a way we will remember well into the future. We invite you to embrace your primal and intuitive reactions to the music, and to join in in our exploration of interpretive movement to soulful sonic experimentation. 1morning is a name familiar to those who attended the first edition of mutual and those with their finger on the pulse of the American underground. Since his first visit to Boston, he has continued to make a name for himself with sets that reach back into the moodiness of 90’s techno and forward into the funky, hardgroove future of his own productions. Through appearances at legendary institutions like Tresor and Draaimolen Festival, alongside releases on Arts Collective and Fixed Rhythms, he has won over dancefloors of both the staunchest techno purists and those seeking off-kilter grooves. Whether he is deep-digging through the expansive foundations of techno or exploring rhythms infused with jazz or bossa nova, 1morning’s intuitive curation and connection to the dancefloor has made him a truly individual selector. ASH is an artist capable of moving across place and time. She was raised in Philly, now lives in Boston, and brings the historic roots of Detroit techno to the forefront of her mixing. Her crate is equally capable of blending in contemporary rhythms and styles as she prioritizes the experience of the dancers, no matter where she is. In her words, every dancefloor is “an evolving conversation.” So expect to be provoked, captivated, and welcomed to join in. Bratattack and SYR anchor our lineup as the respective founders of Brat City and Sacred Space, two events which have filled crucial gaps in the Boston club landscape. As organizers, both Bratattack and SYR aim to immerse clubbers and artists in a close community. This tendency is reflected equally in their role as performers, where genre-fluidity works in service of shared body movement and connection. SYR’s multidisciplinary experience as a movement artist gives her mixing a keen understanding of both sides of the decks, while Bratattack brings forth a confluence of regional club and experimental music that always bears her unique signature.
