Avant-garde collective Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp (OTPMD) has released their sixth studio album, Ventre Unique, via Bongo Joe Records. Inspired by 20th-century African groups and artist Marcel Duchamp, the 12-piece international ensemble delivers an exuberant, organic blend of folk, krautrock, post-punk, and African rhythms. Born out of Geneva’s punk and squat scene, the new record explores contemporary anxieties. It balances loping grooves, written by founder Vincent Bertholet, with marimbas, horns, strings, and angular guitars. Recorded at Paris’s Studio Midilive by Johannes Buff, Ventre Unique channels the energy of the band's massive 150-date global tour following their acclaimed 2021 release, We’re Ok But We’re Lost Anyway. The album showcases a collective of 12 multi-instrumentalists who all contribute to the band's powerful, ritualistic vocals. Alongside regulars like lead vocalist Liz Moscarola, the album features guests Mara Krastina (Massicot) and François Marry (Frànçois and the Atlas Mountains). It is packaged in stunning artwork by French painter Dove Perspicacius.
