The deep and underground sound of progressive house returns to LA. For our second rooftop session, Hypersleep heads back to the rooftop atop the historic former Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles at the newly renovated Somewhere Special. Doors open at 3pm, so the afternoon sets play out in the last of the daylight before the sun goes down and the city lights come up below for the second half. Hypersleep explores the rich melodic textures of labels like Anjunadeep alongside the deeper, more hypnotic progressive sounds championed by artists like Guy J and Hernán Cattáneo. Expect warm grooves, deep atmospheres, and tracks selected for the long voyage rather than the quick destination. This time we welcome Juan Buitrago from Argentina who is quickly rising in the progressive scene, local LA DJ and producer Nick Newman who has been cranking out tracks and delivering amazing DJ sets the last year, and Hypersleep's founder and resident DJ tenspeed. What started as a YouTube mix series by tenspeed is now a live event focused on cultivating the progressive house scene in LA, offering a space for true lovers of the progressive sound to hear their favorite music mixed by their favorite DJs. Sets from our first event are up on YouTube channel if you want a sense of what to expect!
